Karen was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. She arrived in New Mexico in 1997 via Chicago and the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas where she laid the foundation for normal pregnancy and birth at Holy Family Birth Center. She most values time with her partner, son and daughter. She enjoys exploring her community, travel, music, delicious food/cooking, film, reading, time with friends and loved-ones, sleep and a good run…working toward the goal of a marathon in each state with 8 completed. Special Interests:
Karen is a passionate advocate for the well-being of families. She is honored to assist women along the path of health, wellness, contraception, pregnancy, birth and thereafter through evidence-based practice & education, listening, and caring. After spending over 3 years as a family nurse practitioner serving families experiencing homelessness in Albuquerque, Karen has returned to her vocation of full-scope Midwifery since 2007. She welcomes women who are Spanish-speaking.
