Health Tips from WSNM

One of the best things you can do for your body and your baby before pregnancy and in the early weeks is to take a folic acid supplement. It helps with development of a fetus's neural tube, which becomes the baby’s brain and spinal cord. Multivitamins with at least 400 micrograms of folic acid are recommended, so are foods that are rich in folic acid, such as: lentils, asparagus, spinach, peanuts, orange juice, enriched pasta and breads, romaine lettuce and broccoli.
