Consuelo Carmona, MD

  • Dr. Carmona is a transplant from the Show Me State of Missouri and has been with the practice since 1988. She loves taking care of women especially when she has the honor of being involved with the birth of their babies. She has already delivered her first generation of babies. Her time away from work is spent with her husband Wallace, daughter Malia, son Aidan, the 2 family dogs Avalon and Knight, and her 2 Amazon parrots Mo and Flash.

  • Dr. Garcia brought her genteel Southern accent to our practice in 1999. She enjoys spending time with her patients as well as participating on the WSNM Management Team. Her husband David is a doctor of internal medicine and together they have two sons, Jeffrey and Alex.

  • Dr. Gough grew up in the USAF, but considers Albuquerque his home. When not seeing patients or participating on the WSNM management team, he loves to spend time with his wife Kathy and their children Katie and Robert. He hung up his soccer cleats just before he hit 40 but still loves to ski.

Mary Mark, MD

  • Dr. Mark grew up in New Mexico and has been with WSNM since 1984. After having the privilege of delivering thousands of babies over the course of many years, she has scaled back her practice and now provides office-based gynecology services out of the Riverside Plaza Office on Albuquerque’s Westside. Dr. Mark served as the President of WSNM from 1997- 2007. She is the proud mother of three children: Kara, Michael and John.

Rebecca Okun, MD

  • Originally from the East Coast, Dr. Okun joined WSNM in 1991 after completing a four year Federal Government pay back at the Gallup Indian Center. She has a very busy practice in the Northeast Heights Office and also serves as the Clinical Director of the WSNM Management Team. She has two grown daughters, she is an accomplished singer, and has performed with Musical Theatre Southwest and Opera Southwest.

  • Dr. Williams grew up in the nearby state of Colorado. She enjoys the field of obstetrics and gynecology and has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery. She also keeps busy at home with her husband Luis and daughter Miel. In her free time she enjoys running (5 marathons), hiking, cooking and snow skiing.

James Wurzel, MD

  • Dr. Wurzel is married with three children and three cats. His children are teenager Gabriela, toddler Sebastian and infant Julius. His cats are Chiarascurra, meaning "light and shadow" in Italian, so named because she is black and white, Macchiatta who is espresso brown with a white nose, and Kalina, named after a Mexican superhero. In his free time, he hangs out with his children and likes to shoot pool when he gets the chance.

  • Special Interests: A fluent Spanish speaker, Dr. Wurzel specializes in minimally invasive surgical solutions for women who need surgery, but prefer smaller rather than larger incisions. He is excited about several new treatment options available to patients at WSNM. For women suffering from heavy, painful or abnornmal periods, he recommends either the Novasure device or the Mirena IUD. For women wanting permanenet birth control, Dr. Wurzel suggests the Essure device, which can be performed in the WSNM office without general anesthesia.
